Formerly a bellhop at the Shining Spire Inn, Twirling Sand used to be a mild-mannered catfolk with no other real goal in life. He was content with his lot... until Ajani Goldmane came back from the pages of history. The catfolk traveled to see him and heard him speak. His resolve was lifted and he began to take control of his life.
Twirling Sand soon joined Ajani Goldmane's ranger elites and was on an away mission when Ajani Goldmane was neutralized in an attack by the probing forces of Dervaland and had to Planeswalk away. Many innocent catfolk died, including the elder Losing Battle. Twirling Sand blamed himself for the tragedy, and swore that he would never allow anything like that to happen to the catfolk ever again. He now watches the desert to the southeast, preparing for war but hoping for peace.
